Rafael Oliveira
Rafael Oliveira is a choreographer, teacher, and dancer with 18 years of experience dedicated to dance. Known for refined technique and artistic sensitivity, he teaches at national and international congresses and workshops, sharing knowledge and contributing to the evolution of Brazilian Zouk and other partner dances.
In 2010 he represented Brazil at the South American Salsa Competition in Rosario (Argentina), solidifying his presence in the Latin scene. That same year he coached the champions and runners-up of the 2nd International Congress of Brazilian Zouk and Lambada in Rio de Janeiro — a feat he repeated in 2012, coaching the first and third place winners.
Rafael currently directs the Alex de Carvalho Dance Center and the Rafael e Izabel Dance Studio, focusing on the technical and artistic development of new talent.
His approach to Brazilian Zouk prioritizes the body’s natural mechanics and expressive movement, emphasizing fluidity and authenticity. With a keen artistic vision, he researches and develops new uses of the body, exploring biomechanics and expressiveness to improve performance and connection between partners.
